Every year, the Avi Resort and Casino puts on two Christmas parties – one for the employees and their guests, and one for the children of the employees. These parties are put on annually and committee meetings are held starting in November each year. The committee volunteers are responsible for getting the employees’ children’s ages and then before the party, the company purchases a toy for each of the children. At the party, Santa and Mrs. Claus give out a toy to each child (at no cost to the employees). The committee shops for the toys then wraps the toys before the party. The party is carnival style and kids get to play themed games that each department sets up. The committee also gives input and help to the adult party, volunteering to work at different stations – entrance, photo booth, or cleanup.
